Corporate Membership is composed of:

 

 Honorary Life Members

“Life” member shall satisfy the Council

 

The Council may bestow a special honour on a limited number of members whom it feels have served the IPEES in one or more extraordinary ways, for example , Founder Members , Honorary life Members, Honorary Fellows, and Honorary Institutional Members. Members shall include members from abroad who have been actively involved in the affairs of the IPEES

 

Professional Members

“Professional” member shall satisfy the Council

 

(a)  That he is over 40 years of age and that he was a Fellow Member of the Society for at least 2 years.

or

(b)  That his was a Fellow Member or elected “Professional Member” of the IPEES from the Syndicates and Interest Groups for at least 3 years;

and

(c)  That he has made a significant contribution to the Society in that he has acted as an office bearer,Co-opted member / Representative Abroad or elsewhere, and has furthered the aims and objectives of the IPEES;

and

(e)  That he is a regular supporter of the IPEES locally or abroad, through services and his support.

 

Fellows, Honorary Fellows

“Fellow” membership shall satisfy the Council

 

(a)  That he is over 30 years of age and holds a position of senior responsibility.

 

(b)  That he has been registered in terms of the Professional Engineers Act, or any other subsequent replacement act, locally or internationally, or any other similar statutory / controlling body, as a Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer, Professional Technologist (Engineering), Incorporated Engineer, Registered Engineering Technician, Professional Scientist, Professional Manager, any accepted registration/certification locally or abroad or Registered Certificated Engineer, or: has a position of responsibility or any similar senior status recognised by the Council at senior postgraduate level.

 

(c)  Candidates with other Managerial / Technological registrations locally or overseas will also be considered for Fellow membership, based on their individual status.

or

(d)  Holds a postgraduate qualification or the equivalent thereof at the doctoral level from a recognised educational institution.

 

Senior Members

“Senior Member” shall satisfy Council

 

(a)  That he is over 30 years of age and holds a position of responsibility expected from a postgraduate individual.

 

(b) That he has been admitted to Corporate Membership of a relevant Professional Managerial / Technological Institution recognised by the Council (locally or abroad) for the purpose at postgraduate level;

or

(c)  That he holds a postgraduate qualification at the master’s level in a Scientific / Technical / Engineering / Architectural / Managerial / Administrative / Design or similar from a recognised University, or College and has been engaged in Managerial / Technological / Scientific work of an appropriate nature recognised by the Council;

or

(d)  That he has received a good secondary education and a Managerial / Technical education equivalent to Matriculation plus 5 years and that he holds a recognised position in the direction or execution of Managerial / Technological work as expected by a postgraduate level individual.

 

 

Members

“Member” shall satisfy Council

 

(a)  That he is over 25 years of age and holds a position appropriate to his education    and training at the bachelor’s degree level.

 

(b) That he has been admitted to Corporate Membership of a relevant Professional Managerial / Technological Institution recognised by the Council for the purpose;

or

(c)  That he holds a Scientific / Technical / Engineering / Architectural / Management / Design Diploma or similar from a recognised University, or College and has been engaged in Managerial / Technological / Scientific work of an appropriate nature recognised by the Council;

or

(d)  That he has received a good secondary education and a Managerial / Technical education equivalent to Matriculation plus 4 years and that he holds a recognised position in the direction or execution of Managerial / Technological work.

 

 

Associate Members

“Associate Member” shall satisfy Council

 

(a) That he is over 20 years of age and holds a position appropriate to his education and training at the bachelor’s degree level.

 

(b) That he has been admitted to Non-Corporate Membership of a relevant   Professional Managerial / Technological Institution recognised by the Council for the purpose;

or

(c) That he holds a Scientific / Technical / Engineering / Architectural / Management / Design Diploma or similar from a recognised University, or College and has been engaged in Managerial / Technological / Scientific work of an appropriate nature recognised by the Council;

or

(d) That he has received a good secondary education and a Managerial / Technical education equivalent to Matriculation and that he holds a recognised position in the direction or execution of Managerial / Technological work in training as required for professionals.
